Is Coconut Charcoal Good for BBQ? COCO-BBQ FAQ

Coconut shell charcoal can be used for outdoor BBQ when your grill manufacturer permits briquette fuel. COCO-BBQ’s cylindrical briquettes have center holes designed to support airflow. Heat and cook time depend on the grill, fuel arrangement, vent settings, weather and menu.

FAQ

What comes in a COCO-BBQ box?

Each box contains 10 lbs (4.54 kg) of coconut shell charcoal divided into four individually wrapped packs. The fuel is pressed into cylindrical briquettes with central holes. Remove all packaging before lighting.

What do the holes do?

The holes are designed to support airflow. They do not guarantee an even temperature or replace vent control. Fuel arrangement, ash, weather and grill design affect the fire.

Will it work in my grill?

Use the charcoal only in outdoor grills whose manufacturer permits briquette fuel. Check the manual for approved fuel types, loading limits and lighting instructions.

How much charcoal should I use?

Fuel volume depends on cooker size, session length, weather and menu. Follow the grill manufacturer’s capacity and loading guidance. A wrapped pack is a packaging unit, not a universal fuel recommendation.

How should I store unused charcoal?

Keep unlit charcoal dry and away from ignition sources. Individual wrapping is not waterproof. Never store warm or partly extinguished coals with fresh fuel.

How do I light charcoal safely?

Remove all packaging and follow the grill, charcoal and starter instructions. Burn charcoal outdoors only; it produces carbon monoxide. Keep used fuel outdoors until fully extinguished and cold before disposal.

How is coconut shell charcoal different from wood charcoal?

Coconut shell charcoal is made from coconut shells rather than timber. Shell feedstock alone does not establish a specific number of trees saved or prove a lower lifecycle footprint; those depend on sourcing and production data.
