About the briquettes

The cylindrical briquettes have central holes designed to support airflow. Airflow and heat also depend on fuel arrangement, vent settings and cooking conditions. Follow your grill manufacturer's fuel and loading instructions.

Use and storage

Use charcoal outdoors only, in equipment that permits charcoal briquettes. Remove all packaging before lighting and follow the grill and starter directions. Keep unused, unlit fuel dry and away from ignition sources. The individual packs are not a waterproof storage system.

COCO-BBQ charcoal questions

Is coconut shell charcoal the same as lump charcoal?

Coconut shell describes the feedstock. COCO-BBQ is formed into cylindrical briquettes; lump charcoal usually consists of irregular pieces. Check your grill's approved fuel type and size before buying.

How much charcoal is in a box?

Each box contains 10 lbs (4.54 kg), divided into four individually wrapped packs. The amount needed per cookout varies; a pack is not a universal fuel dose.

What do the holes in the briquettes do?

The central holes provide an airflow path. Grill vents, ash, fuel arrangement and weather also affect airflow and heat; the holes do not guarantee a fixed burn time.

Should I remove the wrapping before lighting?

Yes. Remove all packaging before lighting. Use charcoal outdoors only in compatible equipment and follow the grill and starter instructions. Burning charcoal produces carbon monoxide.
